At J.F. Willumsen's Museum a Junior Museum has been created which allows children to find their own approach to Willumsen the artist.
In the exhibition hall of the Junior Museum hang two distinctly different groups of paintings, and two individual works in which the colours are particularly interesting. The two first sets of paintings invite children to study them carefully and then share their thoughts about them.
The two individual paintings in the exhibition hall each have distinctive characteristics and challenge the child in different ways. One painting is very dark and children use electric torches to study the colours in detail. The other painting provides a platform for a dialogue about the mood of the painting and the significance of the colours for the motif.
In the basement of the museum there are two 1:10 scale models of the Junior Museum. Here, children are invited to arrange mini-exhibitions on different themes such as Willumsen's colours, portraits or major works.

Accompanied by adults, children can also explore the rest of the museum and get a feel of Willumsen's paintings, drawings, graphics, ceramics, sculptures, photographs and architecture.
